My hypothesis is that each person and each situation is unique but there is always something in common: the possibility of opening their hearts and minds.
At the 16th Chuo International Education Forum I had the opportunity to meet people from America, Europe, Asia and Africa. I found in each of them the same characteristic; all of them enjoyed teaching but in fact each of them was unique.
The Asian were hard working but very interesting at the time for relaxation. The American and European people were talkative and enthusiastic whereas the African were respectful and always showing their good manners and attentive attitude.
Summing up all these characteristics we reach the conclusion that each country is like a piece of a giant jigsaw puzzle. Assembling each piece of the puzzle we would get what, in a way, could be ‘the’ human being. By human being I refer to the one that would fulfill the expectations of humanity.
Morioka Chuo High School Forum gave us the possibility to test my hypothesis. We human beings have the gift of understanding each other, of accepting other people’s believes and, last but not least to empathize with our fellowmen. Is this a dream or the possibility we should take hold of?
