Compartimos el discurso pronunciado por la Directora General, Lic. Adriana B. Murriello, en ocasión de celebrarse la bienvenida del Colegio Ward como escuela amiga de la MCHS.
Here we share the gratitude speech pronounced by the Headmistress, Lic. Adriana B. Murriello, on the welcoming celebration of Colegio Ward as a new sister school of MCHS.
Estamos realmente felices por estar aquí. Esta gran experiencia ha sido posible gracias a su generosidad y por eso nos sentimos realmente alegres y agradecidos.
Convertirnos en una de sus escuelas amigas le ha abierto una «puerta asiática» al Colegio Ward. Y ciertamente lo apreciamos, por que esto abre nuestras mentes y nuestras almas a nuevas experiencias interculturales.
En nuestro escudo puede leerse la frase «Pax Orbis» que, en latín, quiere decir «Paz en el Mundo». ¡Qué gran desafío para cada generación de docentes y estudiantes! Esta aspiración está vinculada con nuestra fe cristiana, que entiende a la Paz como fruto de la Justicia. Además, esto está muy relacionado con la idea de hombres y mujeres viviendo juntos, cuidándose el uno al otro y al planeta que habitan.
En este siglo creo que podemos entender lo que implica educar con una visión global para una ciudadanía global. Y pienso que esto no es posible a menos que los niños y jóvenes de diferentes lugares del mundo tengan la posibilidad de crecer juntos, estrechar amistades y descubrir que, en definitiva, somos todos seres humanos. Esto nos ayuda a dejar el prejuicio y la discriminación.
Nosotros, educadores de países tan diversos viviendo en este mundo globalizado, podemos hacer un aporte clave si ayudamos a construir puentes entre las culturas, permitiendo a las nuevas generaciones valorar y amar su propia cultura, pero también ser capaces de respetar y valorar aquellas que son completamente diferentes.
El Colegio Ward entendió que este es el espíritu que posee la Morioka Chuo High School al realizar este foro año tras año y al hacer escuelas amigas alrededor del mundo. Es por esta razón que estamos aquí, en Morioka.¡Desde Sudamérica a Japón!
Esperamos que este vínculo sea fructífero en lo cultural, académico y también en lo ético. Y esperamos ser la «puerta a Latinoamérica» para la Morioka Chuo High School.

We are really very happy for being here. This great experience has been possible because of your generosity and we feel glad and grateful indeed!
Becoming Sister Schools has opened an ‘Asiatic door’ to Colegio Ward. And we certainly appreciate so because this opens our minds and souls to new intercultural experiences.
On our shield the phrase ‘Pax Orbis’ can be read. It means, in latin, Peace in the World. What a tremendous challenge for each generation of educators and students! This aspiration is related to our christian faith, that understands Peace as a fruit of Justice. Also, it is closely connected with the idea of men and women living together taking care of each other and caring also for the planet.
In this century we can certainly understand the implications this idea has in educating with a global vision for a global citizenship. And I think this is not possible unless children and youth from different corners of the world have the opportunity of growing together, build friendship, and discover that above all, we are human beings. It helps to set aside bias and prejudice.
We, educators from so different countries, living in a globalized world, can surely make a difference if we accept the challenge of building bridges through cultures, allowing new generations to value and love their own culture first but being able also to respect and value those completely different.
Colegio Ward understood that this is the spirit that Morioka Chuo High School has, holding this forum year by year, and it’s also the incentive for making ‘Sister Schools’ around the world. It is for that reason that we are here, in Morioka. From South America to Japan!
Our hope is that this sisterhood will be fruitful on the cultural, academical and ethical dimension. And we wish to be the ‘Latin American door’ for Morioka Chuo High School.
